How to Apply
Things to know BEFORE you apply to SJS:
Our high school graduation requirements are higher than the State of Oregon and most public schools. We require:
English/Language Arts - 4 credits
Math (Algebra 1 and above) - 4 credits
Science - 4 credits
Japanese - 4 credits (No other second language can be substituted for Japanese)
Social Studies - 3 credits
Health - 1 credit
PE - 1 credit
Electives - 5 credits
All students take a Japanese language courses. In 4th grade, students take Japanese 1 day a week. In grades 5-12, students take Japanese daily.
Enrollment for the following school year is open to students who are currently in 3rd-11th grades.
Our Lottery is drawn in mid-April. Students who apply after April 1st are place on the list for the next year's lottery.
If you are interested in attending SJS there are several steps you must follow.
1. You and your child should attend one information night in
January or March
2. You and your child must schedule a visit to the school.
3. Complete our application.
